Unlock the Potential of Your Studio with In-House Teacher Training

career advice Dec 11, 2024

Are you a Pilates studio owner struggling to keep up with client demand? You’re not alone!

A trend I see when I talk to studio owners is that they’re practically bursting at the seams with clients — it’s skilled teachers that they need more of.

Fortunately, there’s a solution that not only addresses this issue but also enhances your studio’s offerings: hosting an in-house teacher training program.

Introducing the Pilates Encyclopedia Teacher Training (PETT) Program for Partner Studios

By partnering with us, you can launch your very own in-house teacher training program without the hassle of creating curriculum or materials from scratch.

Why Host the PETT Program?

  1. Expand Your Team: Most Pilates studios are bursting with clients and need more skilled instructors. Hosting our PETT program allows you to grow your team without extensive recruiting efforts.
  2. Local Training: Your potential trainees can get trained right in your studio, eliminating the need for travel and making it easier for them to integrate into your studio’s unique atmosphere and vibe.
  3. Affordable Investment: There’s no need for a huge upfront investment. Our program is designed to be cost-effective for partner studios.
  4. Flexible Enrollment: You don’t need to recruit a large group of trainees. You can guide one trainee at a time through the training, accommodating varying studio sizes and needs.
  5. Integrated Learning: Trainees become part of your studio’s day-to-day activities, learning to fit seamlessly into your environment while receiving top-notch education.
  6. Personalized Training: As a mentor, you can emphasize what’s important to you and your clients, ensuring the trainee receives a well-rounded education tailored to your studio’s needs.
  7. Support & Resources: We provide comprehensive support, including policy templates and best practices, to help you manage the training process effectively.

How the Program Works

  • Flexible Learning: Trainees complete theoretical coursework online, with 52 weekly lessons that they can pace according to their schedule.
  • Reverse Classroom: Trainees prepare by reading each lesson's content and practicing each week's exercises before meeting with the mentor. This way, the time with the mentor can be spent on clarifying concepts and deepening their understanding, instead of learning exercises and concepts from scratch. This leads to much better retention of the material.
  • Hands-On Experience: Trainees engage in practical hours overseen by you, including observation, self-practice, and teaching practice, all within your studio.
  • Structured Support: We offer guidance on managing the training process and provide ongoing support to both mentors and trainees.

Program Requirements

To qualify as a host studio, you need:

  • a NCPT-Certified Pilates teacher who will be the trainee's mentor (this might be you.)
  • Essential Pilates Apparatuses: Reformer, Trapeze Table (or Tower), Pilates Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, and Magic Circle.

Getting Started

Becoming a the PETT partner studio is straightforward:

  1. Initial Onboarding Fee: $999, which includes access to comprehensive training materials and onboarding support.
  2. Annual Fee: $450, covering ongoing Pilates Encyclopedia membership and support.
